* Says Bayelsa West Must Move “From Consumption to Production”

By Majesty Inegbagha

On Tuesday, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) standard bearer for Bayelsa West, Apostle Dr. Christopher Perelado Ogola, has kick-started a major public conversation around his FEED Agenda, unveiling a vision centred on food security, local production, sustainable livelihoods and economic prosperity for the people of the senatorial district.

Ogola said the conversation on FEED — Food is anchored on a fundamental question:

“What will create lasting public value for Bayelsa West?”

According to the ADC candidate, the answer lies in building a stronger food production system that empowers local farmers and producers, creates sustainable livelihoods and strengthens the connection between communities and markets.

“Food security grows when local production, livelihoods and market connections become stronger,” Ogola stated.

He explained that the FEED Agenda goes beyond addressing hunger, describing food as both a critical wellbeing priority and a major economic opportunity capable of transforming communities across Bayelsa West.

The agenda, he said, seeks to connect local production and livelihoods with wider systems that will enable value to reach the people, communities and markets where it is most needed.

Ogola maintained that his vision for Bayelsa West is clear and focused:

“The goal is to move from consumption to production, strengthen livelihoods, create opportunities and build a more secure economic future for Bayelsa West.”

The ADC standard bearer also outlined what he described as the principles that will guide his approach to public service and leadership.

“The standard is equally simple: communicate clearly, act responsibly, follow through and remain accountable to the public interest,” he declared.

Political observers say the launch of the FEED Agenda conversation signals a deliberate attempt by the ADC candidate to place economic empowerment, food security and sustainable development at the centre of his campaign message for Bayelsa West.

As the conversation gathers momentum, Apostle Dr. Christopher Perelado Ogola is presenting a message of production, opportunity and a more secure economic future for the people of Bayelsa West.
