YENAGOA — The African Democratic Congress (ADC) senatorial candidate for Bayelsa West in the 2027 general elections, Apostle Dr. Christopher Perelado Ogola, has called for responsible representation anchored on purpose, progress and issue-based political engagement.
Ogola made the call in a goodwill message in Yenagoa on Thursday to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the creation of Bayelsa State.
He said politics should not be defined by bitterness, personal attacks or unnecessary division, stressing that political disagreements could remain respectful, factual and focused on the future.
According to him, responsible representation begins with clarity of purpose and a commitment to practical progress, rather than the multiplication of promises.
Ogola said political engagement should focus on identifying the challenges confronting the people, articulating realistic solutions and ensuring accountability for promises made to the electorate.
He maintained that public debate could be firm and constructive without becoming hostile, arguing that the shared interests of the people should remain stronger than political differences.
“For Bayelsa West, the goal is not to multiply promises, but to keep public attention on priorities that can be pursued responsibly and assessed honestly,” he said.
The ADC candidate urged political actors and citizens to concentrate on issues capable of improving the lives of the people, rather than allowing political differences to create unnecessary divisions.
Ogola, who is seeking to represent Bayelsa West Senatorial District in the 2027 elections, called on the people to embrace a politics of purpose, responsible leadership and collective development.
He said his campaign philosophy was centred on building a stronger and more united Bayelsa West through constructive engagement, practical solutions and accountable representation.
“Arise and build together a new Bayelsa West,” Ogola declared.
