INEC urged to refrain from bribe, cancellation of election results in Bayelsa

   The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been urged to refrain from bribe and deliberate cancellation of election results in Bayelsa state in order to pave  way for election of credible candidates into positions of trust that would enhance the socio-economic well being of the people.

   Several Bayelsans across the state who spoke to Global Overseer’s monitoring team during the last February 23 Presidential and National Assembly’s election made the assertion on condition of anonymity alleging that most of the electorates in the state sold their voting rights for money thereby violating the electoral process in the country.

   They advised stakeholders to eschew crying foul for areas they don’t win the election, alleging that they were involved in the fraudulent electoral process in the state.

   The said Bayelsans alleged emphatically maintaining that millions of Naira has been used by some political parties across the communities in the state to induce voters to vote for their party during the last Saturday’s election in the presence of the electoral body conducting the said election at the various polling units without complains.

   According to them Bayelsans are one people, emphasizing that whoever win the election should be announce devoid of unnecessary complains detrimental to the corporate existence of the people.

 They pointed out that the position of the Senate and House of Representatives is not meant for one person, stressing that results of the last Saturdays elections should be announced without cancellation and further delay.
