Bayelsans urged to shun divisiveness, embrace incoming administration-OCAF

 A foremost development-oriented organization under the aegis of Ogbia Constituency II Advancement Forum (OCAF) has enjoined the people of Bayelsa state to eschew divisiveness and work as an inseparable entity in support of the incoming administration led by the Governor-Elect, Chief David Lyon and his amiable Deputy, Senator Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo to enhance the desired development of the state.

   The National Chairman of the body, Mr Majesty Inegbagha made the appeal in a chat with newsmen on Wednesday, in Yenagoa.

   He further urged the people of the state from different walks of life irrespective of their political inclination to see the development of the state as a collective responsibility, pointing out that no society can attain its desired development in an atmosphere of acrimony, disunity, lawlessness, hatred, kidnapping, killings and wanton destruction of properties devoid of peace.

   Noting that peace and unity in a society are the fundamental pre-requisites for development, Mr Inegbagha urged the people to use the Christmas festive season which characterize love and peaceful co-existence to embrace the incoming administration.

Inegbagha maintain that the true essence of Christmas is the celebration of the incredible love of God that God demonstrated for us by sending His One and Only Son, Jesus Christ to this world to save us by suffering and dying on the Cross for our sins.

    He condemned the use of abusive language in the media and on political platforms against opponents, alleging that all users of abusive words against their political opponents do not have any meaningful contribution to make to the development of Bayelsa state.

   Inegbagha said, Bayelsa needs men and women of integrity to be in leadership position—people with good reputation; and he said emphatically that we have gotten the Governor-Elect, Chief David Lyon and his amiable Deputy, Senator Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo to serve us with utmost humility, transparency, probity and accountability; with the exceptional leadership qualities needed to transform the state to haven of peace and prosperity devoid of sentiments and discriminations.

    It is only those who do not have any reputation to protect who would tarnish the image and hard won reputation of other people. The insults in the media as we hear on the radio and read on the internet are a shame to us as a state.

    I call on web administrators and developers to help prevent those who only know how to insult and use dirty language to destroy others, stressing the need they should not allow abusive words to be posted on their websites because Bayelsa state needs development to alleviate the current suffering facing the people.

    He also enjoined all Bayelsans to imbibe and demonstrate the essence of the season of love; goodwill among all the people of the state; giving and sharing; strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and good neighbourliness, and focusing on all that bind us together as one united state
