Why APC Can't Win November 11 Governorship Election In Bayelsa – Bodi-Arerebo

The President of a socio-political organisation under the aegis of  Friends of Senator Douye Diri (FSDD), Prince Bodi-Arerebo has advanced reasons why the Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Timipre Sylva would fail the November 11 governorship election in Bayelsa state.

Bodi-Arerebo made his position known on Thursday, in Yenagoa, while exchanging views with journalists shortly after the  unveiling of FSDD Campaign Bill Boards for Douye Diri/Lawrence Ewhrujakpo re-election on November 11, governorship election, and the distribution of flyers and Polythene bags containing the achievements of the Prosperity Government to market women and the general public at Tombia and Swali Markets, as well as at Senator Douye Diri's Skills Acquisition and Empowerment Center, Okutukutu.

The FSDD boss boasted that apart from the unprecedented achievements the Flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen Douye Diri,  that gives him mass support for his second ambition, APC has no candidate that would contest and win the November 11 governorship election in the state because of its past political antecedents and failure to woo development into the state for the past years, adding the fact the party has no structures on ground.

The President, Friends of Senator Douye Diri (FSDD), Prince Bodi-Arerebo and his team was received by the Director-General, Senator Douye Diri Skills Acquisition and Empowerment Center, Charity Kent Godwin at Okutukutu. 

According to him Bayelsans want a person that would rule with the fear of God to make the state  peaceful at all times, stating that it is in a peaceful atmosphere that development thrive.

He stressed that the people doesn't need a man that would promote thuggery and cultism to cause sleepless night for the people.

"We want a person that will rule the state and the people will sleep with their two eyes close. We don't want somebody that will rule the state and give the people sleepless night. We want to sleep with our two eyes close and peace everywhere, "he averred.

He asserted emphatically without a mincing word that Governor Diri deserves a second tenure because he is a humble,  God fearing and a resourceful leader of impeccable character who attach high premium to the general interest of the people above personal gains.

He affirmed, unlike the APC,  the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has structures and people of unflinching support on ground to win the November 11 governorship at the nooks and crannies of the eight local government areas of the state.

On why he want Bayelsans to vote for Sen Diri for a second tenure, Bodi-Arerebo said, good things need to be encourage because in the history of Bayelsa state under the current Democratic dispensation, from 1999 to date,  which he had said severally, that we have gotten  good governance but not like this, that Douye Diri is doing.

He maintained that Sen Diri is ruling the state with the fear of God, and he is a silent achiever that record exceptional achievements in all sector of the state economy.

He pointed out the various enviable  achievements of the Prosperity Government led by Sen Diri including the senatorial and internal roads in the state capital.

"Douye Diri is spending the people's money wisely to ensuring good development for the

 state. That is the reason we are encouraging him. And that is the motive we are saying he should come back and complete his good job for the people.

And we are happy that Bayelsans are indeed ready to give him the overwhelming mass support to win the November 11 governorship election.

You can see the exercise we did today, people are coming out to collect our flyers saying that he deserves a second tenure, " he stated.

He said the programme as a routine exercise was designed to mobilize mass support for Sen Diri and ensure that he win the aforesaid governorship election.

He pointed out that the forthcoming election is not for gun carrying but for the populace to know that good governance need to be encouraged.

He held, Senator Diri has rule the state well and ensure good governance that all hands must be on deck to vote for him overwhelmingly for his second term ambition to continue his good works for the state.

He used the forum to advise the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security operatives to exhibit neutrality in the discharge of their statutory responsibilities  to enhance free and fair election.

"In the fear of God, let the election materials get to the polling units. Let votes be cast; and let them be counted. Nobody should say I'm supporting this; I'm supporting that. There should be no partial practices. They should play their constitutional role in the interest of all. We want an election devoid of shooting and negative alliances. This election should be free and fair, and to the glory of God, " he warned.

On the youths, he reminded them that as future leaders of tomorrow, they should not allowed themselves to be used by inordinate politicians as stooges to embark on acts inimical to free and fair election.

He added that they should not allow anybody to carry gun and give them to commit crime, intimidate the electorates or cause trouble during the election.

Rather, they should embrace on acts capable of  ensuring free and fair election during the exercise.
