Labour Party Governorship Candidate Unveils Roadmap To Rule Bayelsa

Ahead of the November 11 governorship election,  the Candidate of Labour Party, Engr Udengs Eradiri unfolded his roadmap to rule Bayelsa State to enhance  development in all aspects of the  economy.

Engr Eradiri disclosed this on Wednesday while exchanging views with Journalists in his campaign office, Etegwe, Yenagoa.

He said when elected and sworn in, he would embark on aggressive development in all aspects of the state economy under his four points agenda PEAP-People Education  Agriculture  Power.

He decried the level of under development in the state which was created over 26 years ago, ànd blamed it on incompetent leadership  and mediocrity in governance.

According to him his entry into the governorship race was borne out of his desire to use his wealth of experience to offer purposeful  and competent leadership that would salvage the people of the state from the shackles of poverty, deprivation, underdevelopment, mismanagement and misappropriation of the resources of the state.

He said he is doing his best within the capacity he can carry, noting that governorship election is a very expensive business.

He said, he has not stolen public fund but he would use his limited resources to win the election through the support from the electorates.

" I know that I can deliver more than them. So, I am reaching out to Bayelsans who are the brunt of incompetent of leadership in Bayelsa state to decide whether they would  continue to take money from people or for one, they can stand up and chose somebody who can resonate with the .issues.

And what are the issues? The People, Education, Agriculture and Power, "he averred.

He prioritised the people according to him because affordable, effective and accessible healthcare is a problem in Bayelsa.

This, he added to the poor sanitation and clean environment, security and the flood that is coming, saying that these are issues that make the people unhappy and unstable.

The Labour Party Flagbearer promised to employ primary school teachers and provide conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning including welfare, housing and vehicles so that the teaching profession can be one that is enviable.

" I want to provide leadership so that we can have the right mindset for teachers; and right teaching environment by upgrading educational facilities in Bayelsa schools, primary to tertiary institutions.

'We will upgrade educational facilities and build university villages with the right facilities to support and make education less stressful for the young one," he said.

He maintained that his administration would provide special scholarship for young one when they sign a bond to work for five years for the state. Also, technicians, medical doctors and nurses would be offered the same scholarship.

The Otuokpoti rice Programme and Ebedebiri cassava farm will be revived and extend to Peremabiri and Sampou, lamenting the abandoned five hundred fish ponds overgrown with weeds at Igbogene.

On power, Eradiri promised to procure and build gas turbines for the three senatorial districts to enhance uninterrupted electricity supply in the state.

This, he realized the importance of power to the economy of a state and improvement of the living standard of the people and enhancement of industrial growth.

Eradiri also pledged to embark on affordable housing scheme to reduce the high cost house rent in the state, as well and other basic infrastructures to boost the desired development in the state.

Owing to the devastating effects of flood, he promised to build Ekeremor new town, Oporoma new town, Yenagoa new town and Brass Atlantic city and elevate the ground high for flood, adding to other measures to curb the effects of flood in the state.

He said his chances to win the election is in the hands of the electorates who have suffered enough.

According to him he would not shed anybody's blood because of power, emphasizing that the people who have suffered enough know who they should vote for.

He pleaded with the electorates to cast their votes for the candidate of Labour Party during the governorship election to curb the unbearable hardship currently prevailing in the state. He declared that he is at the prime age of 47 to pilot the affairs of the state in the interest of all Bayelsans.

He said with his rare wealth of experience and academic background  he is prepared to govern the state and offer good governance.

It would be recalled that Eradiri studied Engineering in the University of Benin and proceeded to AM University of TEXAS where he  studied Dredging and Water Technology.

There after, he went to Lagos Business School and studied Skill Acquisition before he proceeded to the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies-Kuru Jos where he studied Policy Strategy and Leadership.  

The Labour Party candidate advised the electorates not to sell their votes for money and  continue to live in hardship and àbject poverty.

Rather, when they bring money they should collect it and vote for Engr Udengs Eradiri, the Labour Party Governorship Candidate.

He also assured to give the welfare of civil servants and retiress a pride of place in his administration through prompt payment of salaries, pension and gratuities and other entitlements.
