Dauyegha endorses Senator Dickson for 2027 Senatorial election - Says no zoning in Bayelsa West

By Comrade Inegbagha Majesty

The former Minority Leader in Bayelsa State House of Assembly and All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Candidate for Bayelsa West in 2023, Hon Wilson Ayakpo Dauyegha has endorsed Senator Henry Seriake Dickson for the 2027 general election.

Sen Dickson Henry Seriake is the current Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District in the 10th senate under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking with Global Overseer in an exclusive interview on Monday at his residence in Yenagoa, Hon Dauyegha said that there is no zoning in the area.

The Ekeremor born politician and trailblazer whose contributions to societal development is unparalleled gave several reasons for throwing his weight behind Senator Dickson, and expressed his preparedness to mobilize support and campaign for him when INEC announce commencement of political activities for 2027 general election.

On his political ambition in 2027, Hon Dauyegha emphatically declared that he will not contest for the senatorial seat of the area despite calls on him to contest for House of Representatives or the senatorial seat.

This, he said was because of the exceptional performance and effective representation of Senator Dickson among other factors.

His words" You know the present senator who is there, a person of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Henry Seriake Dickson is doing very well.

He is representing us very well. I ran the election with him in 2023. I don't think even me if I was there I can even match the level going. I can't even meet up. I don't think I have that strength.

Seriake Dickson is doing very well, and for me one thing we are lacking in Sagbama/Ekeremor Senatorial District is somebody that has the quality to represent Ijaw nation.

Adam Oshiomole in Edo state is a voice. When we come to Bayelsa state Senator Dickson is a voice. Senator Dickson is speaking for the Niger Delta and Ijaw nation at large. So, we have two quality senators, person of Senator Dickson and Oshiomole.

And I tell you without fear or favour that Senator Dickson deserves to go back again. Because for now Chief E.K Clark is gone. Who do we have?  Who will speak for us? Nobody. Who has that shoe of Pa E K Clark that can stand for Ijaw Nation is Senator Henry Seriake Dickson. That is why I am supporting him for 2027 senatorial election," he said emphatically.

Hon Dauyegha, a successful and an astute politician, passionate leader committed to the progress, growth and development of society, told Global Overseer that he ignored all calls to contest for the House of Representatives or the Senate to support Senator Dickson, stating that it was because of that he resolved to go back to the State House of Assembly in 2027.

On the basic problems of Bayelsa West, Hon Dauyegha a silent achiever and honest who exhibit transparent representation that impact positively on the lives of his constituents in his four years of effective representation, enjoined politicians to see politics money as not their own but for the people.

"You see, let me tell you something. Politics money is not your money. If people vote you to represent them, any money you are getting from that source is not your money. Is for the people. You must reach out to the people," he stated.

He averred that he has performed creditably well and ensure effective representation for the four years he served his constituents in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly and uplift the socio-economic and political well-being of the people.

He affirmed his determination to do better with the wealth of experience he gained during his first tenure if God permit him to go back to the house.

He condemned the ongoing campaigns for zoning from community to community in the area and advised those people to wait for INEC declaration and guideline for the 2027 general election.

According to him Senator Dickson as a seasoned politician will continue to give the senatorial district and Ijaw nation a better representation, adding that he is the best man for the Job considering his maturity and exceptional leadership.
