OCAF Felicitates Senator Degi-Eremienyo’s Victory at Tribunal

A frontline
socio-economic and development-oriented organization under the aegis of Ogbia
Constituency II Advancement Forum (OCAF) has felicitated with the Senator
representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District, Senator (Bishop) Biobarakuma W.
Degi-Eremienyo for his landslide victory at the Bayelsa Election Petitions
Tribunal Judgment in Abuja.
The body in its congratulatory message described the judgment as a victory for democracy and the corporate interest of the people of the state, particularly the less privilege in society.

A statement signed
by its Executive Chairman, Mr. M G Inegbagha wondered why a man unanimously
voted for to represent the people of the area would be dragged to the Tribunal
for selfish gain, pointing out that the move was a calculated attempt to
distract his genuine intention to ensure effective representation to better the
lot of the generality of the people.
He noted that
during the February 23 Presidential and National Assembly’s election the
electorates of the Senatorial District turnout in their large numbers to vote massively
for (Bishop) Biobarakuma W. Degi-Eremienyo because of his rare wisdom, God fearing and exceptional
leadership acumen, generosity; and as a man of impeccable character who
attached importance to public interest above personal gains.
According to the organization the Senatorial District need a renowned
and foresighted, humane and detribalized leader like Senator Degi-Eremienyo who
is openhanded and detribalized to represent them, stating emphatically that
that was the reason the people overwhelmingly voted for him.
The body taken into cognizance of his enviable track record, pointed out
that in all places he had worked; he has demonstrated exceptional and
unparalleled administrative acumen with varying degree of efficiency and
success.
“Senator Degi-eremienyo is a man of
towering figure who accomplished many great things. Indeed his impact to societal
development and humanity was far-reaching and profound. His choice was due to
his professional and leadership excellence, competence, straight forwardness
and humility with genuine intention to ensure effective representation for the
overall interest of all. He is a distinguished administrator and a rare gem of
utmost uprightness and promoter of peace, good neighbourliness who hate
politics of divisiveness and sectionalism,” the organization stated.
The
body described him as a man of extraordinary feats, courage, consummate
leadership, loyalty and uncommon commitment as well as a trailblazer which had
brought so many accolades to himself, his LGA, the state and Nigeria in general while serving as a Councilor,
Vice Chairman and Chairman of Nembe Local Government Council, Commissioner of
Local Government, Rural Development and Chieftaincy Affairs and later
Commissioner for Health, Executive Director of Human Resources and Administration, Federal Roads
Maintenance Agency ( FERMA), Abuja as
well as Member Governing Council,
Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Ogun state amongst others.
“Indeed, he has the pedigree to steer
the ship of the Senatorial District to the Promised Land in line with the
yearnings and the aspirations of the people,” they asserted.
The body called for all and sundry to rally round him in order to enable
him concentrate for the purpose he was elected for to uplift the welfare of
mankind.
They prayed the Almighty God to give him Divine Wisdom, good health and
strength to carry out his statutory responsibilities to better the lot of
Nigerians.
The Organization also used the forum to congratulate Chief Timipre
Marlin Sylva on his well deserved appointment as Petroleum Minister for state
in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
