All
is now set to vote massively for the Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives
Congress (APC), Chief David Lyon and his running mate, Senator Biobarakuma Degi
for tomorrow’s governorship election in Bayelsa state.
Indigenes
of Bayelsa state origin from different walks of life have returned to their
different communities in the state in preparation for the tomorrow’s governorship
election in the state to cast their votes for APC Candidate.
The
move according to them is aimed at alleviating the unbearable untold hardship,
poverty, misery and the hunger adversely affecting the people of the state and
to enhance even development.
Most
of the people who spoke to Global Overseer correspondent at the different motor
parks in Yenagoa and riverine speedboat loading centres said they were going
purposely to vote for Chief David Lyon and Senator Degi of the APC whom they
have confidence that when elected as Governor and Deputy of Bayelsa state would
address the myriad of challenges affecting the socio-economic and political
wellbeing of the people to improve their living condition.
When
ask who is paying for their transport fare to go home and vote, they said they
were going home on their own to vote the APC candidate in order to provide the
desire change that all and sundry in the state would benefit.
Speaking
further, the people described David Lyon and Senator Degi as God sent leader to
salvage the state from the shackles of poverty, deprivation and
underdevelopment.
They
believe that when given the mandate on Saturday; they will manage the state
economy in such a manner as to secure maximum welfare, freedom and happiness of
every indigene of the state on the basis of social justice and equality of
status and opportunity.
According
to them they have confidence that APC will win but would shun any monetary
inducement by any person or party.
“The
general interest of Bayelsa state is what we are after. The present state of
hardship and poverty in the state is unacceptable. And we believe that voting
the right person; person of proven integrity, generosity and God fearing who
attach importance to public interest above personal gain is the person we are
going to vote now.
We
spend our own money going home to vote purposely to change the present cabal
leading the state to new person who will carry everybody along devoid of
sentiments and discriminations,” they averred.
