Bayelsa Radio station perish as gale collapse mask into pieces



    The activities of Bayelsa State Broadcasting Corporation popularly known as Radio Bayelsa was forcefully wind up as a result of a gale which collapse its mask into pieces on Monday evening.

   The situation may send the station’s workers to compulsory leave if urgent steps have not been taking to build a new befitting Radio station for the state. 
   Although no life was lost but the incident has cause irreparable damages that calls for urgent attention to make the station come back to life.
   The major target of the incident was on the office of the General Manager as the mask strike the roof down to the floor and destroyed the equipments in the office.

    The Governor of the state Senator Douye Diri, accompanied by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere and other top Government functionaries inspects the level of destruction caused by the collapsed mask.

    Some staff who spoke to Global Overseer on condition of anonymity blamed the incident on poor maintenance of the mask, pointing out that money allegedly approved were diverted for purchase of laptop and other things that are meaningless for the development of the corporation.
    They asserted emphatically that  a mask must be maintained regularly in order to avoid hazards.
