Coordinator charges NASSP Enumerators In Bayelsa

Enumerators have been urged to always do a thorough job in-line with NASSP guide lines in order to have a quality data base in the state social register in Bayelsa state. 

 

 The Coordinator, State Operations Coordinating Unit (SOCU), Mr Felix Asingbi made the remark in a meeting with Enumerators carrying out the ongoing validation of prospective beneficiaries of the federal government Rapid Response Register (RRR) for COVID-19 impacted low income earners for urban and semi urban areas in the country in his office in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital.

He said that, government places high priority on the establishment of the national social register in the country and appealed to them to take the exercise seriously.

According to Mr Asingbi, the government planned to impact positively on 25 million Nigerians, adding that about 8 million people will get Cash transfer through Registry system, and the RRR programme will impact about 3.5 million, while 5 million households will also be moved out of poverty through the traditional CBT/Social Register process.

 

The state coordinator, however, used the forum to announce the national coordinator's directives for all states to stop CBT activities and focused on the second wave of the RRR programme and the update of the social register.

He further said that, for the NASSP scale up, households with 1-6 decile in the social register will have their data updated to enable them benefit from the cash transfer programme.

The SOCU boss maintained that that, NASSCO has directed that no name should go into the social register without phone number and bank account and thanked them for the cooperation in the discharge of their duties.
