Bayelsa Ex-Commissioner Hails Peaceful Conduct of LG Election In Kolga

The April 6, 2024 local government election in Bayelsa state has been described as peaceful, free and fair in Kolokuma/Opokuma local government area of the state.

The immediate past Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr Moses Teibowei made the assertion on Saturday in a chat with journalists at his home town, Odi in the area.
" Concerning the conduct of the local government election in my Ward and Odi Community has been peaceful," he statëd.
Teibowei described the large turnout of people to vote en mass for the ruling party in the state (PDP) was borne out of love and the confidence they have for the party in control of the affairs of the state.
He added that it was the first time Odi Community was given the privilege to have somebody to become the local government council chairman since it was created.
He used the forum to express appreciation to Sen Douye Diri, governor of Bayelsa state, and the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) for the choice of an indigene of Odi Community as the party's flagbearer for the election.
Mr Teibowei affirmed the unflinching support and loyalty of Odi community to Governor Douye Diri and the Prosperity Government to foster peace and sustainable development of the state.
