Bayelsa Assembly Approves Gov Diri's 3 Demands

Bayelsa State House of Assembly on Tuesday's Plenary, presided by the Speaker, Rt. Hon Abraham Ingobere, has unanimously approved three requests by the state governor, Sen Douye Diri.
The Governor, in three separate letters addressed to the Rt. Honourable Speaker, Abraham Ingobere, dated 9th August, 2024, read by the Clerk of the House, Pastor Kent Adogu, demanded the House consideration and approval of 2025-2027 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper (MTEF-FSP), the approval of additional 14 Special Advisers as well as Screening and Confirmation of two member nominees for the State Independent Electoral Commission (BYSIEC).
In his letters, the governor said, his requests are Statutory and wanted the House approved.
The House after thorough debate inline with it's constitutional responsibilities approved the governor's requests.
The approval followed motions moved by the Leader of the House, Rt. Hon. Monday-Bubou Edwin Obolo Ph.D and seconded by Hon Barr. Tare Porri, Hon (Chief) Ayibanegiyefa and Hon Marlon Moses respectively.
Those screened and confirmed are Hon Charles Emmanuel and Barr. Perediyegha Ajoko.
