The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Basin Development Authority (NDBDA), Prince Ebitimi Amgbare, recently, paid a significant visit to Senator Allwell Heacho Onyesoh, the Senator representing Rivers East Senatorial District. This visit was strategic, aimed at fostering collaboration and garnering support to drive the mandates of the Authority, aligning with the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, particularly in the areas of food security, employment generation, empowerment, and capacity building.
The Rivers East Senatorial District, which falls under the catchment area of the NDBDA, holds great potential for agricultural development and other initiatives critical to food security and employment creation. The engagement between Prince Amgbare and Senator Onyesoh was centered on leveraging this potential through coordinated efforts and shared resources to meet the expectations of the people within the district and the wider Niger Delta region.
During the visit, Prince Amgbare emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between federal agencies and legislative representatives in advancing the socio-economic development of the region. He highlighted that the NDBDA’s initiatives align closely with President Tinubu’s commitment to national food security, capacity building, and youth empowerment. These initiatives are aimed at providing sustainable solutions to unemployment, fostering economic growth, and ensuring food sufficiency in the region and country at large.
"When we have successfully achieved and implemented these milestone plans, our restive youths will become productively engaged, converting and directing their misconstrued energy and time to the betterment of their various communities", Amgbare added.
Senator Onyesoh expressed his support for the NDBDA's projects and reiterated his commitment to working with Prince Amgbare and the Authority. He recognized the potential impact of these initiatives on his constituents and affirmed that he would use his position to advocate for necessary legislative backing and resources to ensure the successful implementation of NDBDA programs in the Rivers East Senatorial District.
"I see your vision and I'm proud and eager to share it with you, and I believe with our synergy, we will bring it to fruition", Sen. Heacho replied.
The visit marks a new chapter in the continuous synergy between the Niger Delta Basin Development Authority and legislative stakeholders, as they work together to address critical issues of food security, employment, and empowerment within the Niger Delta. Both parties expressed optimism about the positive outcomes this partnership will bring to the region.
