Gov Diri Deserves Commendation Over His Remarkable Achievements, Says Dr Otele

A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development in the immediate past administration, Dr Julius Otele, has said, the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri deserves commendation in view of his outstanding achievements to spur him to enhance more dividends of democracy for the people.


 

Dr Otele who made the remark in a telephone chat with Global Overseer on Thursday. described Sen. Diri as a man with proven track record  of performance, selflessness and unwavering commitment to the infrastructural development, peace, security, prosperity and wellbeing of Bayelsans.

The former Commissioner lauded the governor for demonstrating the spirit of government of continuity thereby completing projects initiated by the previous administration and curb abandon projects in the state.

He was particularly grateful to the governor for continuing works on the three Senatorial roads; Yenagoa-Oporoma, Sagbama- Ekeremor-Agge and the Nembe- Brass roads to link communities in the hinterland.

He noted the administration’s earlier completion of various road projects in the state including the construction of Elebele collapse bridge in Ogbia, 4.5 Kilometre Igbedi road in Kolokuma/Opokuma local government area, phase 2 of the Glory Land Drive in Yenagoa, as well as the Nembe- Unity Bridge in the East Senatorial District and internal roads in the state capital.

Dr Otele also included the administration construction of the outer ring road from Elebele to Igbogene, phase 2 of the Isaac Boro Expressway in Yenagoa, completion of Imiringi bridge, and completion of Onopa bridge and construction of access road into the New Yenagoa City where work on the commissioners and members of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly New Quarters are going on.

Dr Otele used the forum to enjoined Governor Douye Diri to sustain his administration's commitment to transparency, accountability and good governance in order to leave behind more enduring legacies before the expiration of his tenure.
