October 31st NUJ Chairmanship Election: Ogio Unfolds his manifesto to move NUJ forward

The Chairmanship Candidate of October 31st NUJ Election, Comrade Ogio Ipigansi Clement has unfolded his manifesto to move the Bayelsa State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists forward when elected.
Comrade Ogio who made this public
during his campaigns at the respective chapels of NUJ, on Monday and Tuesday,
in Yenagoa, said that when elected he would accord welfare of its members and training
programmes a pride of place in his administration. Comrade Ogio Ipigansi Clement
He added that with his wealth experience as a unionist, he would strengthen the bond of relationship between NUJ the state government to enhance service delivery and effective dissemination of policies and programmes to promote harmonious relationship between the government and the people.
Ogio also pledged to introduced six years’ development agenda for the union where all stakeholders will gather and deliberate the way forward of the union.
He expressed his determination to operate an open door policy that would involve and benefit all members of the union irrespective of their political leanings, stating that as members of indivisible union, NUJ politics should not be taking as a do or die affairs or winner takes all.
He appealed to those fanning embers of disunity, acrimony as well as those embarking on media campaign of blackmail and calumny to desist forthwith.
He stated that he has prepared to win the election peacefully and that was why he has been going from Chapel to Chapel to sell his manifesto to the electorates and solicit their votes but not to carry out scathing criticism against anybody.
He noted that he has the overwhelming support to win the election, saying that God would not allow any evil plan by anybody to truncate his victory.
Ogio commended the members of the various NUJ Chapels for large turnout to receive his campaign team and enjoined them to come early at NUJ press centre to cast their votes.
At the different Chapels visited, they expressed their support and willingness to vote Comrade Ogio Ipigansi Clement.
They described him as a man of impeccable character, humble, experience, and an exceptional Union leader who attached important to public interest and welfare of members above personal gains.
