Eminent personalities to attend Late Mrs Rhoda Akpoti's burial at Ayakoro on Friday

Eminent personalities from all walks of life both within and outside the state, including friends, sympathisers are expected to attend the burial of Late Mrs Rhoda Akpoti at Ayakoro in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa state on Friday, December 6, 2024.
Late Mrs Rhoda Akpoti, a woman of integrity and humility, who had
demonstrated exceptional love, care, and compassion to humanity, died on Wednesday, April 2024, at

She is an embodiment of glory and light, whose invaluable contributions and exemplary role to peace and progress of society, while alive is an inspiration for generations.
According to burial arrangements signed by the Chief Mourner, Mr Puraziba C. Akpoti JP, on behalf of the families, said, her body would leave Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Otuoke outreach Mortuary in a motorcade by 9.00am to her home town Ayakoro.
At 10.00am the body would be lying-in-state at her husband residence in the community, and 11. 00am, her corpse would be taken to the Civic Centre for Christian Music Ministration/ Commendation Service; and music to be supplied by Junior Amange.
She will be buried at 2.00pm followed by traditional wrestling by 4.00pm at the Community playground.
According to the Chief Mourner there would be all night wake keep at 7.00pm till dawn, music to be supplied by Mr Best B Musical Dance Band, and DJ Carlos/ DJ J Boy.
The burial rite would be rounded up on Sunday with a Thanksgiving Service at Assemblies of God Church in the community.
The late Matriarch, Mrs Rhoda Akpoti was survived by a Sister, Mrs Itoki Oruama, the Chief Mourner, her first son, Mr Puraziba C. Akpoti (JP), a man of enviable track record and various accomplishment towards the enhancement of human and societal development; and also an accomplished educationist and a trailblazer.
She was also survived by a Daughter, Madam Hannah Akpoti, and many relations, step children, grand children, great grand children and in-laws including Chief (Dr) Samuel Ogbuku, Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief (Barr.) Jude A. Rex-Ogbuku, Rt.Hon Mitema Obordor, Member Representing Ogbia Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Chief (Barr ) Jude A. Ogbuku, HRH Okorodo Shedrach, Chief Micah Francis Obom, Dr Daminola A. U Francis, Dr Innocent E. Francis, Chief Bright Nathan Ogbuku, Mummy Molly Ogbuku, Mummy Florence Itekesi, Madam Lilian Ogbuku and Barr. Believe Akpoti
