Bayelsa Assembly Says It Has Done Everything To Promote Good Governance Of Bayelsa .Begins Eight-week Recess

The Bayelsa State House of Assembly says it has done everything within its statutory mandate to promote good governance of the state under the visionary leadership of Rt. Hon (High Chief) Abraham Ingobere, its Speaker.
The Majority Leader of the House and member representing Southern Ijaw Constituency II, Rt. Hon Monday-Bubou Edwin Obolo Ph.D, stated this in a motion moved for the House to commence its annual recess, and seconded by the Deputy Speaker and member representing Ekeremor Constituency 3, Hon (High Chief) Michael P.Ogbere at its Wednesday plenary session.
Moving the motion, Hon Obolo said the House has passed exceptional bills for the peace, order, and good governance of the state.
Others, he said, the House has carried out its oversight functions creditable to ensure that the government is accountable to the people, and public resources are being used efficiently and effectively, adding its responsibility of approval of Budgets, Constitutional Amendment, effective representation of constituents, and confirmation of appointments amongst others.
Sequel to the unanimous adoption of the motion, the House embarked on eight - week recess, beginning from 30th July, 2025 to resume on 30th September,2025.
In his remarks, the
Speaker, Rt. Hon (High Chief) Abraham Ingobere described the annual recess as
timely, and expressed optimism that members would also use the period to meet
with their constituents among other activities.
Ingobere also lauded members for their commitment and contributions which has made the session a great success.
