Woso Woso Friends VC Highlights Significant Of Trees Planting In Bayelsa

The planting of trees to check deforestation and mitigate climate change has been described as crucial for environmental sustainability.

The Vice Chairman of the Woso Woso Friends, Mr Kuromiayebaye Bokolo stated this during the 6th edition of tree planting campaign of the Woso Woso Friends over the weekend in Okpoama-Brass, in Brass Council Area of Bayelsa State.
Mr Bokolo said restoration of the environment through tree planting purify the air, stabilize the soil, provide habitat for wildlife besides the aesthetics and shades the trees provide.
He said Woso Woso Friends are committed to sustaining the Okpoama Environment for future generations, adding that environmental sustainability should be a collective task while calling on the Okpoama Kingdom Disciplinary Committee and the people to protect the trees.
The group also donated tools, PPEs and dump sites it built to the Okpoama Kingdom Youths Environmental Sanitation Committee to enhance the cleanliness of the community.
Presenting the items, the Woso Woso Friends planning and Implementation Committee Chairman, Mr Harrison Wapaemi called for cooperation amongst the various groups in the community and thanked the youths for the role they are playing in bringing about development in the kingdom.
Recieving the items, the Okpoama Kingdom Youths President, Engr. Seiyefa Ben-Basuo thanked the Woso Woso Friends for the donations and called on other groups to emulate the guesture, saying that the items will boost the cleanliness of the community.
