Bayelsa Assembly Confirms Nominees for Education Development Trust Fund Board * Charge Chairman, Secretary to be effective team players

The Bayelsa State House of Assembly on Thursday has screened and confirmed 16  Nominees for the  State Education Development Trust Fund Board whose  names were forwarded to the House by the state governor, Senator Douye Diri.

Rt. Hon (High Chief) Abraham Ingoberre 

Those screened and confirmed include 

 Chief Fidelis Agbiki - Chairman and Prof. Ebimieowei Etebu - Executive Secretary.

Other members of the board are  Tawari Adombazi ,Prof. Fibainmine Paulley -  , John Edoughotu, Kebbi Janet Amasingha ,Barr. Rotina Orubo, Hon. Nyananyo Tubo, Sir Matthias Otuogha, Werigbelegha Mark, Favorite Fabiri - Representing Ministry of Education, Matthew Oyindoubra Odou - Representing Ministry of Finance, Richman Otobo - Representing the Nigerian Labour Congress, Igbudu Pedro Dennis - Representing Trade Union Congress, Barr. Gad Ombeh - Representing Oil and Servicing Companies

and Dr. Mrs. Atuwo Alice - Honorary Member .

Speaking shortly after the screening, the Speaker of the State  House of Assembly Rt. Hon ( High Chief) Abraham Ingoberre charged the newly Board Chairman and the Secretary to be  team players in effective and efficient service delivery.

He stressed that they must be good team players and work closely with board members to collectively achieve the mandate of the board.

The Speaker asserted the active role play by the State House of Assembly in improving the educational system in the state, apart from creating a lot of institutions, create conducive environment for it to operate, infrastructure development, and putting efforts that teachers are giving the best training among others.

He emphasized that the prosperity of tomorrow depends on the level of education we produce.

Earlier in his advice, the Deputy Speaker and member representing Ekeremor Constituency 3, Hon (High Chief) Michael Ogbere also advised the Chairman and the Secretary of the Board to be team players by carrying board members along to enhance effective administration of the board and address the education challenges of the state.

He acknowledged their wealth of experience and stressed the need for the board to address the current problem of inadequate feeding in the boarding schools of the state.

He also enjoined the newly board to work in unity and improve teaching and learning in our schools.
