Ex-Bayelsa Federal Lawmaker Endorses Gov Diri's Defection To APC

A former member of the Federal House of Representatives from Bayelsa state,  Fred Azibapu Obua has endorsed Governor Douye Diri's defection to the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday.

Speaking with Global Overseer on Thursday, Hon Obua who represented Ogbia Federal Constituency at the 9th National Assembly described the governor's defection as  timely and a step in the right direction.

Hon Obua who extolled Governor Diri for his exceptional proven track record of performance and unwavering commitment to the infrastructure, human capital development and his good governance of the state, asserting that his alignment with the ruling party would further strengthen democracy and the vision of his Prosperity Government for the state.

Hon Obua, a visionary federal lawmaker noted for his legislative Excellence, effective representation, infrastructure development and empowerment, said, "where Governor Diri goes there  I go."

Obua observed that almost all the South South state governors have defected to APC saying that Bayelsa state alone cannot remain in the Peoples Democratic Party that is allegedly sinking.

He stressed the need to unanimously allowed President Bola Tinubu from the South to complete his eight years in office to enhance peace, stability and development as well as strengthening the nation's democracy.
