Dr Tokpo who made the appeal in an interview with Global Overseer on Thursday, in Yenagoa, said his appeal became necessary as it will  serve as a reward for  his dedication, selfless and meritorious service to the party.

He highlighted the advantage he had over other aspirants to bring victory to the party in his Constituency and the state if given the mandate.

The  APC  Chieftain said, apart from his educational background, wealth of experience, vibrancy, accessibility, generosity, impeccable character, and his exceptional eligibility  and qualifications  for the state Assembly,  he is conversant with the crucial role the legislature could play as bedrock of democracy and work harmonious with the Executive arm to strengthening democracy and promote development and good governance in the state.

On what actually compels him to contest for the State House of Assembly election, Dr Tokpo said, he wants to serve his people because they have not had the kind of representation he wanted to offer for some time.

According to him, he wants to champion laws and reforms that will impact and fostering economic growth, social justice, and improve welfare of his Constituents and the entire people of the state.

He affairmed his determination to leave behind indelible mark on the state democratic journey as a courageous, dedicated and  commitment exemplary leader.

He promised to ensure effective representation through high-quality lawmaking and advocation of policies and decisions that would benefit his Constituents and the public.

" I have the service background. My father was a Paramount Ruler who successfully ruled Otuan Community for 54 years before he died.

So, I have the intention to serve. I want to contribute to lawmaking in a way that will benefit the state. The quality of laws will reflect the development of the  state. I can contribute meaningfully to make quality laws for the state. I'm not going there to amass wealth or sit down quietly without contributing to debates, sponsoring bills or moving motion, but service to the people. That is the motivation," he stated.

He said that Southern Ijaw Constituency One is made up of three communities - Otuan, Amassoma and Amatolo, adding that they are brothers who emanated  from one home, regardless of little differences but politically they are one.

According to him the three communities also intermarried, pointing out that himself from Otuan married Amassoma woman, stating that his children are from Otuan and Amassoma.

Dr Tokpo therefore implored the people of Amassoma and Amatolo communities to jointly endorse him for the  State House of Assembly.
