Anatolia Energy and Services Limited organises 3 Days leadership development training programme for Host Communities in Bayelsa

Anatolia Energy and Services Limited, operator of PML104/Okiori Oil Field, on Tuesday, has organised a three  days leadership development training programme for members of the Nembe Okiori Host Community Development Trust  (HCDT) in Nembe Local  Government Area of Bayelsa state as part of its strategic plan to build the capacity of the Trust to drive sustainable development of its Host communities in line with the Petroleum Industry Act (2021).

The capacity building programme covers key aspects of HCDT management, including strategic leadership, management skills, teamwork, legal and regulatory framework for the operations of Host Community Development Trust, stakeholder management, and communication.

In his Opening remarks, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Company, Dr Adeleke Adedipe expressed happiness over the harmonious relationship between the host communities and the company aimed at  fostering peace, unity and sustainable development in the communities.

He lauded the state government and the Honourable Commissioner of the Ministry ofp Mineral Resources for being its partner, adding that the company would look forward to partnership with the government and the people of the state in its operational activities.

The Chief Operatoring Officer extolled  the members of the Board of Trustees of Nembe Okiori Development Trust, the Management  Committee as well as the Advisory Committe for  keeping faith with the company.

Dr Adedipe was optimistic that the leadership training programme will equip them to successfully execute the mandate that has been giving to the company's various host communities such that the communities will be develop, because all will be together to ensure that the trust is manage in the best way for the progress of various communities.

Also in her speech,  the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, Mrs Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan lauded Anatolia Energy and Services Limited for  organizing the programme, stating emphatically that NUPRC is proud of what the company has done.

"The Commission is very very proud of what we are seeing from Anatolia today," she stated.

The Commission boss who spoke through the Bayelsa state Field Coordinator, Mr Bighoro E. Sylvester highlighted the important of training, pointing  out that without training nobody can achieve something meaningful.

She urged them to take the leadership training programme serious and apply the knowledge gained in the running of the HCDT. 

In his speech  the Bayelsa State Commissioner for Mineral Resources, Barr Peter Afagha, who was  represented by the Head of Department (HOD) Petroleum, Engr Kuroakighe Simon Mathias, expressed gratitude to Anatolia  Energy for organising the training programme for the Nembe Okiori HCDT. He said the training will go a long way in enhancing the performance of the HCDT. 

He maintained that the Bayelsa State Government will continue to support oil and gas companies operating in the state to ensure smooth operation.

He stated that the ministry's mandate is also  to protect the rights of communities as well, and urged them to give the development of the communities a pride of place to enhance sustainable progress.

The Nembe Okiori Host Community Development Trust was inaugurated on 10th June 2025.

The leadership development programme will further position the Trust to effectively deliver its mandate for long-term development of the communities in partnership with the Settlor.

The training faculty includes renowned leadership coach, Dr Emmanuel Dorgbaa of the African Institue of Public Speaking and Communications Excellence, legal luminary and commercial law expert, Barrister Folake Sadiq, Industy guru and public relations expert, Oyinkro Olobio. The faculty reflects the intention of Anatolia energy to build the capacity of the HCDT members for long-term performance.
