Bayelsa Conducts SS1 Scholarship Examination Across Eight LGAs

The Immediate Past Executive Secretary of the Education Development Trust Fund (EDTF), Dr. (Mrs.) Alice Atuwo, has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the Senior Secondary School One (SS1) Scholarship Entrance Examination into Government Model Secondary Schools for the 2026/2027 academic session.

Dr. Atuwo, who now serves as an Honorary Member of the Trust Fund, made the remarks while monitoring the examination at St. Jude’s Girls Secondary School Examination Centre in Yenagoa.

The Board member commended the impressive turnout of candidates and praised the orderly conduct of both participants and invigilators throughout the exercise.

According to her, the smooth and transparent process reflects the high level of preparation, coordination, and commitment demonstrated by the Ministry of Education and other stakeholders in ensuring that only the most deserving candidates benefit from the scholarship programme.

Dr. Atuwo also reiterated the State Governor's commitment to improving educational standards and expanding access to quality learning opportunities for young people across the state.

The scholarship examination was conducted simultaneously across all eight local government areas of the State with a viewl to avail all candidates the opportunity to participate and ultimately clinch the scholarships.
