DG Pledges to amplify Voice of Rotary International President

The 10th District Governor of Rotary International District 9141 covering Bàyelsa, Delta, Edo, and Rivers States, Rtn Chibueze Anthony Olikagu has pledged to work assiduously to  amplify the voice of the Rotary International President, Olayinka Hakeem Babalola and  driving down his vision to the various communities within the district boundaries.

Rtn Olikagu made the  pledge at a media parley held at Ernest Ikoli Press Centre, Yenagoa,  Bàyelsa State capital ahead of his formal installation as District Governor on Saturday,
 July 25

He said the utmost priority of his administration is to create lasting empires to enhance sustainable results that  would  transform communities and Rotary members.

He affirmed emphatically that rotary has changed its members, stressing that "And for me, I'm one beneficiary on how Rotary can change one. Rotary has changed me. And I believe rotary has change a lot of our members. So, that is his vision and that is what we are driving it," he stated.

According to him, his administration would execute projects and programmes inline with rotary established rules and policies which he called "7 Areas of Focus".

These seven areas of focus, he said are protecting the environment by supporting activities that conserve natural resources and promote environmental sustainability. 

Others are community economic development, basic education and literacy by providing quality education for children in decent environment,    maternal and child health, by improving access to healthcare and reducing mortality rates for mothers and young children; Water, sanitation, and hygiene, peace building and conflict prevention as well as disease prevention and treatment.

He expressed his administration intention to provide desks to  various schools for pupils, where pupils sit on the  floor to enable them sit on comfortable environment for learning.

On what inspire him to join the Rotary International, Rtn Olikagu said, is because he want to change himself.

According to him Rotary International has completely changed his life to better in many ways.

He maintained that he would be remembered as a District Governor that actually create enduring impacts and the gift of sound leadership to District 9141 and clubs by the expiration of his tenure.

Rtn Olikagu lauded the Governor of Bàyelsa State, Senator Douye Diri and the people of the state for their unflinching support and the cooperation accorded to Rotary International and its  members.
