Why Bàyelsa West Should Unanimously Endorse Dr. Ogola for Senate

The political atmosphere in Bàyelsa West during next year's general election will witness a peaceful, free and fair election following the people realization that effective representation is meant for only persons of impeccable character who attached important to public interest above their personal gains.

The people have acknowledged that greed, selflessness, corruption, incompetent, and poor representation were among some of the causes of  poverty and under-development in the Senatorial district.

Over the years since the returned to democratic rule, the area was among the Senatorial districts that sold their votes for a token, and allowed thugs or persons who have personal agains above public interest to represent them, thereby resulting to the present state of abject poverty, deprivation and lack of genuine development.

This time around the people have realized and believe that they can vote without fear, their choice will be respected, and their votes must count, adding the fact that, power cannot be used to override the will of the voters.

Certainly, a good senatorial candidate is an effective public servant who balances constituent representation, rigorous lawmaking, and ethical integrity to craft meaningful public policy to improve the the socio-economic well-being of the people.

A good candidate to be voted for, must be attentively hearing the true needs of the people he will represent; struggles, and feedback of local communities.

He must prioritize public well-being above personal gain, and must be accessible, and always connected to the people being represented.

He must be a  competent person who has a clean record, strong moral character, and a reputation for transparency as well as strong public speaking.

The Candidate, also must be a connector, collaborator, and consensus-builder willing and able to challenge conventional thinking.

Indisputable, the Candidate of the African Democratic Congress(ADC) for Bàyelsa West Senatorial District, Apostle (Dr.) Christopher Perelado Ogola, is the one who has all the aforesaid qualities.

Therefore, the need for the people of the Senatorial district to unanimously endorse him for the next year's senatorial election, irrespective of their political leanings, owing to his unparalleled sterling qualities, cannot be overemphasized.

His emergence as the best choice of the people was also not unconnected with his christian background as a genuine christian, adding to his outstanding records of antecedents, competence, accessibility, transparency, accountability, generosity and the important he attached to public interest above personal gains.

It would be recalled that even before his divine call to contest for the 2027 Bàyelsa West Senatorial seat, over the years, Apostle (Dr) Ogola has been carrying out empowerment programmes that enhance the socio-economic well-being of many people.

Even, the recent four points manifesto he presented for the area when elected, is a clear testament of his exceptional qualities and the important he attached to the welfare of the people.

Presenting his manifesto, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Candidate for the Bàyelsa West Senatorial District, Apostle (Dr) Christopher Perelado Ogola, has expressed strong optimism to win the Senatorial seat in the next year's general election, through the support of the people and his divine mandate.

He described his political ambition as a divine mandate, and explained that he did not just get up on his  own, and declared ambition to contest for the senatorial seat. 

He stated categorically that his aspiration for the Senate is in compliance with divine instruction.

He said "My mandate is a divine mandate. I did not get up to bring myself in to the  Senatorial race. It is a divine instruction I received. Hence I have come to run for the office of the Senate in Bàyelsa West under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

According to him, his divine mandate is to come and fulfill a specific agenda to liberate the people from the years of slow progress, slow to almost no progress over many years. 

"So, I have come to liberate them with specific mandate that I am to deliver to the people," he affirmed.

He described the pace of development in the senatorial district as very slow since the returned to  democratic rule from 1999 till date.

He lauded the former representatives of the area for trying their best, adding that he would  begin his divine assignment from where they had worked and stop, to salvage the people of the area from the shackle of poverty, deprivation and under-development. 

His four points manifesto typically focuses on core pillars of societal and economic growth, most commonly encompassing economic growth, human capital development, infrastructure, and governance.

The four points development model escapsulate with the acronym "FEED" meaning Food, Education, Empowerment and Development, stem from Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs philosophy. 

It explained that you cannot progress to higher needs without resolving the base needs, which is the physiological needs of  human beings- food, shelter, clothing, water among others.

"Those are the basic needs of human beings. If you ignore them and try to progress to higher level of development, you will find out that that development will be slow, because even the infrastructural things you are building; the people can vandalize them and sell them at even small amount of money just to survive, because of the prevailing hunger in the land. 

So, the"FEED" model of development basically is to start with food security to make food to be available, accessible and affordable to the people of Bàyelsa West Senatorial District."

According to him, with the availability, accessibility and affordability of food the people can eat and begin to reason with other levels of development.

On the educational advancement of the district, Dr Ogola vowed to establish structural school system that would outlives its inventor to run for ages.

Apart from that he will also build model schools with a very powerful educational system where foreign partners would be engage to boost the standard of education in the area through upgrading of schools infrastructures, training and motivation of teachers, provide up to date learning materials and ensure inclusive access to the programme.

In continuation of his philanthropic gesture before his senatorial ambition,  the ADC candidate under its FEED development  agenda, promised to  embark on sustainable empowerment programme that goes beyond short-term cash handouts, to create sustainable wealth and self-reliance among the people.

He maintained that women, men, youth and the vulnerable would be empowered, stating that  economically and socially to boost the living conditions of the people remained among his top priorities, adding that the future of the district depended on productive, self-reliant women and youth.

On Development in his FEED agenda, he promised to ensure higher-quality representation that the people cannot gainsay.

He pledged  to championing and deepen legislative accountability, attract development that would be equitably establish across the Senatorial district.

Also, he affirmed his unwavering commitment to championing live changing legislation, motions, and facilitate impactful initiatives and programmes for the betterment of his constituents.

He emphasized his commitment to serve with integrity, transparency, accountability, diligence, ensuring that the resources entrusted to the Senatorial district would be used prudently, efficiently, placing the needs of the people at the front burner of his FEED agenda.

He promised to ensure that the voices and the aspirations of the people remain central to his mandate.

He assured to build a  constituency office to have close contact with his constituents, understand their concerns and respond effectively to their needs, as well as ensure people-driven and inclusive leadership.

" The FEED model is a very comprehensive agenda that touches every aspects of life.

When you talk of empowerment, there are two aspects of empowerment, and I major on one of them. Constituency office has to be open to address the immediate needs of the people.

We are talking about development that will not come only from government, and that will come from investors too. The development we are talking about is beyond what the government is providing.

We are talking of development that comes as a result of, also the integrity that we put to attract other investors," he averred.

Apostle (Dr) Christopher Ogola, of the"Physical Ministries" Church in Port Harcourt, the ADC candidate affirmed that his mandate is a divine mandate, asserting his trust on the God he served.

The God from whom I got instruction to go  contest for this position so that I bring liberation for my people, I trust. I am the David that defeat Goliath," he asserted.

He enjoined the electorates in Bàyelsa West to strengthen their resolve to support for his divine mandate to actualize his victory during the election.

" There is hope for the masses, they should not give up. Those that think that there is no more hope, I am telling them that there is hope. Help is on the way. Help is coming. God has send them help. A messenger that they can trust is on the way. Help is coming.They should not give up. Help is coming. Don't die now. Make efforts to live. Stay and see the goodness that is coming. I trust my God that will bring everything to pass,"Dr Ogola said.

The massive endorsement for Dr Ogola for Senate no doubt will bring about positive changes that will ameliorate the plight of the people, and promote rare and genuine changes that will bring positive impacts on the lives of the people.

Already, the Governor of the state, Senator Douye Diri has advised politicians to respect their opponents and ensure that campaigns for the 2027 general election were issue based.

Therefore, the people of Bàyelsa West should work together in unity and love as inseparable entity, irrespective of their political leanings in strengthening their support for Dr Ogola to enhance overwhelming victory during the election.

Dr Ogola anchored his manifesto to promote a new political culture that would promote justice, equity, service, productivity and  people-oriented leadership, and inclusiveness devoid of sentiment.
