Governor Diri gave the commendation on Tuesday during the official commissioning of the hotel, where he joined distinguished Bayelsans and business leaders to celebrate Enogha’s latest investment in the state.

The governor praised the hotelier for sustaining his interest in the hospitality industry for almost two decades, describing his investment as a demonstration of confidence in Bayelsa’s economic potential.

He said his presence at the event underscored the importance the Government of Assured Prosperity attached to attracting private investments and creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

Diri reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the business environment through strategic investments in critical road infrastructure, security and electricity.

According to him, the provision of a stable power supply would significantly reduce the operating costs of businesses and encourage further investments across the state.

“I must commend the vision and tenacity of Chief Enogha, who has sustained his interest in the hospitality industry for almost two decades.

“My physical presence at this event demonstrates the importance our Government of Assured Prosperity attaches to attracting investments into the state.

“The current administration will continue to provide an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, hence our massive investments in critical road infrastructure, security and power,” the governor said.

Diri expressed optimism that the steady supply of electricity from the state’s 60-megawatt gas turbines would reduce the cost of running businesses, thereby enhancing productivity and improving the overall investment climate.

“I am glad to note that with the steady supply of electricity from our 60MW gas turbines, the running cost of most businesses will drastically reduce. Those are the incentives coming from our government,” he added.

The governor also disclosed that he had visited the newly opened Trend’s Place Hotel and Suites in Okaka, Yenagoa, to inspect the facility, which he said had added to the aesthetic appeal of the state capital.

The commissioning of the Ayalla Hotel Extension and the opening of other hospitality facilities reflect the growing role of private-sector investment in expanding Yenagoa’s hospitality industry and supporting the state’s economic development.
