The Special Adviser to the Bayelsa State
Governor on Public Affairs, Mr. Daniel Alabrah has unfolded the sterling
qualities of late Mrs Goldcoast Dickson the Mother of the state Governor saying
that she deserves a befitting burial.
Mr. Alabrah made the assertion in an
exclusive interview with Global Overseer in Yenagoa.
The Special Adviser described Mrs Goldcoast
Dickson popularly known as “Mama Gogo” as an exceptional woman of substance, a
quintessential mother, devout Christian and community leader who devoted her
lifetime to the service of God and humanity.
According to him, Late Madam Goldcoast
Dickson was an integral part of Governor Dickson’s journey in life which
deserves to be given a befitting burial considering the unparalleled
development stride of the Restoration Government in the state which she
supported her son through selfless prayers and meaningful advice to accelerate
the pace of development in the state and enhance the welfare of the people.
He added that while alive, she affected
several lives and build hopes in people describing her as a rare gem,
pace-setter, loving mother to all who crossed her ways as well as a
development-oriented woman of impeccable character,visionary and pragmatic
leadership.

The Special Adviser pointed out that as a
mother of trust worthiness and extra-ordinary motherhood exceptional flawless
character, she demonstrated her love for her children by ensuring their proper
upbringing which today they became useful in society.
He described her death as very painful and a
great loss considering her active role in societal development among other
virtues that she has exhibited while alive.
“She is the mother of the Governor. She is a
special woman because she has given birth to a son who is also special and by
extension his mother. She is a great support of her son and the Restoration
Government. She was a woman that was very prayerful. Some mothers have special
attributes; she has a special attribute and she lives a Godly life. Therefore,
she deserves a special place in the history of our state. Her loss is painful
that nobody expected this to happened,” Alabrah stated.
Mr. Alabrah expressed deep appreciation to
Governor Henry Seriake Dickson and the family for the giant steps taking to
build Goldcoast Dickson Cancer Centre in Toru Orua in memory of their Late
Mother and to prevent further death from Cancer.
He urged people with great ideals to emulate,
stressing that it should not be only about Cancer but other kinds of ailments
and diseases that confront mankind today.
Noting that personalities from different
walks of life are coming into the state to pay her the last respect, Mr.
Alabrah call on all and sundry to come out enmass to give her a befitting
burial considering the good life she lived on earth.
The Special Adviser to the Governor also
used the forum to appeal to all Bayelsans to come together through the funeral
service to support the good policies of the Restoration Government because
“Mama Gogo” represent the good aspect of the Restoration Government.
“She gave us a son who today has stood out
to be counted; a son who has made a mark in the developmental history of
Bayelsa. A son who has shown today that leadership can affect and influence
life positively,” he averred.
