Governor-Elect, Chief David Lyon                                                  Deputy-Elect, Senator Biobarakuma Degi

The body in its message signed by the National Chairman, Mr Inegba M. Genesis described their victory as a unanimous desire of the people of the state to elect a God-fearing Governor and Deputy Governor of outstanding leadership qualities whose past track records have prove to be persons of renowned proven integrity who attach importance to public interest above personal gains.

The message asserted emphatically that the office of the Governor of the state is destined for God-fearing persons with impeccable character who have deep understanding of the yearnings and the aspirations of the people.

It added that obviously the office of the Governor is not meant for the inexperience, self-centered people and greedy politicians whose motive of entry into politics is borne out of egocentric desire to amass wealth at the detriment of the people.

Felicitating Chief David Lyon and Senator Degi, the organization affirmed that the duo posses exemplary leadership qualities and wealth of experience, adding to their unprecedented generosity, humility and desire to transform the state to haven of peace and progress; they were overwhelmingly elected to pilot the affairs of the state on February 14, 2020.

The organization also lauded the people of the state for shunning the billions of naira monetary inducement to vote for freedom, peace, development, unity and the upliftment of the socio-economic and political wellbeing of the people.

OCAF also used the forum to call upon the losers to congratulate Chief David Lyon, the Governor-Elect and Senator Biobarakuma Degi, pointing out that their victory is a Divine Decision from God Almighty.

The body recalled its earlier publication on the front page of Global Overseer Newspaper on September 26, 2019 captioned “We are Waiting for David Lyon, Senator Degi’s Swearing in – OCAF” before the election saying that the duo are ordained by God to pilot the affairs of the state in the interest of all Bayelsans devoid of selfish gains.

It urged all the losers to embrace the winner and not to take politics as a do or die affair, stressing that in every election there must be a winner and loser.

The body urged the losers not to waste their resources because Bayelsans have decided that the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate who presented his manifesto well during the campaigns is their choice and no single individual can change it on selfish ground.

It commends the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting free, fair and credible election in Bayelsa state.
