Flood: Fever outbreak reported at Ayakoro in Bayelsa .Royal father implore for help

  An outbreak of fever has been reported at Ayakoro community in Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa state as flood submerged the entire community and properties worth millions of Naira destroyed.

 

 The Paramount Ruler of the community, His Royal Highness Righteous Inegbagha dropped the hint while exchanging views with newsmen who visited the community to ascertain the effects of this year’s flood.

The royal father, who described the community as one of the flood ridden villages in the Ogbia local government area, said private and public buildings such residential buildings, the State School Ayakoro, Government Craft Development Centre Ayakoro, Community Secondary School Ayakoro and the Community Health Centre are submerged.  

The traditional ruler lamented that hundreds of people have been displaced in the community leading to the disruption of social life and cultural heritage of the people, while farm lands have also been submerged leaving the farmers wailing due to the destruction of crops.

 The Royal Highness use the forum to appeal to the state and federal governments, National Emergency Management Agency, Flood Intervention Agencies, Humanitarians and well meaning individuals to come to the aid of the community through the provision of relief materials such as food items, medicine, building materials, clothings, as well as shelter for the displaced persons to ameliorate the suffering of the people.   

 He also appealed to the state ministry of health and world health organization to come to the aid of the community.
