Gov Diri unveils Programme of activities to mark his two years’ in office

Bayelsa state Governor, Senator Douye Diri has unfolded programme of activities to mark his two years in office.

The Governor made this public at the 63rd State Executive Council meeting held last Wednesday in Government House in Yenagoa.

The Programme which will last for one week would be chaired by the Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, as chairman of the Central Planning Committee for the anniversary.

The Governor, who announced the names of members of the different Sub-Committees for the anniversary, said other activities during the period would include a Symposium, Made in Bayelsa Agric Show, Medical Outreach, Cultural day, Musical show, Youth and Women Empowerment programme and a Gala night.

At the opening of the 63rd State Executive Council meeting, Governor Diri, said the week-long activities would cover commissioning of some completed projects, Thanksgiving and other programmes.

It would be recalled that the Prosperity Government of Senator Douye Diri came onboard on February 14th, 2020.

The Governor, accordingly has been embarking on projects inspection to ensure completion and ready for commissioning.

Speaking to newsmen, during the inspection, Governor Diri, expressed satisfaction at the level of work done at the project sites and also commended the supervisory Ministry of Works and Infrastructure.

Those who accompanied Governor Diri, on the project inspection were the Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon. Abraham Ingobere, Leader of the House, Rt. Hon.Monday Bubou Edwin Obolo, Chief of Staff Government House, Chief Benson Sunday Agadaga, Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, ESV Moses Teibowei, Commissioner for Information, Orientation and Strategy, Hon Ayibaina Duba and other top government functionaries.

The Governor inspected the Yenagoa-Oporoma road project where the Governor and his entourage drove to Angiama on the sand-filled portion, the State Media House to house Radio Bayelsa, Niger Delta Television NDTV and the Newspaper Corporation, the Glory Drive road from Ecumenical centre, Section One of Igbogene-AIT Elebele road up to Okarki area, Igbedi road project, the Bayelsa State Transport Terminal at Igbogene, the Elebele Bridge and the Onopa Bridge among others.
