The newspaper publisher's body expressed deep satisfaction with the initiation, construction and execution of some monumental projects by the Governor Douye Diri's administration to include the Ultra-moderm Media Building that now accommodates the State Newspaper Corporation (New Waves), the Niger Delta Television (NDTV) and Radio Bayelsa, a building that the organization described as second to none in the Nigeria nation.
It further lauded the Governor, his deputy Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo and the Prosperity Government for taking the three Senatorial roads beyond imagination, with the desire to hit Oporoma, Brass and Ekeremor in the shortest possible time, stressing that the gesture no doubt will open up the state for aggressive public and private development.
The organization extolled Governor Diri for approving and procuring a Coaster bus for the state Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) to facilitate movement of the state officers of the Council, and calls on the Governor to extend his hands of fellowship to other associations, particularly Bayelsa Federated Newspaper Publishers Association.
The Bayelsa Federated Newspaper Publishers Association also commended the Honourable Commissioner of Information, Strategy and Orientation, the Honourable Ayibaina Crowther Duba and the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor, Mr Daniel Alabrah on their robust relationship, open door policies and transparency in dealing with the media, and calls on the duo to sustain the tempo.
It called on the Honourable Commissioner and the Chief Press Secretary to be more focused and not to be distracted by unfounded criticisms but to keep doing the good works they are known for, assuring strongly that BAFENPA will continue to support all public-oriented programmes and policies of government as they are geared towards the physical infrastructural and human capacity upliftment of Bayelsa State.
