Speaker Describes Nembe-Brass Road as Most Significant road created in Bayelsa -Says PDP has done well to win in 2023

The Speaker of Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Abraham Ingobere has described the Nembe-Brass Road as the most significant road project created in Bayelsa in view of its economic viability to the people of the state and nation.

Hon Ingobere made the remark while exchanging views with journalists on Thursday, at the ground breaking ceremony of the project in Nembe local government area.

The number one lawmaker in the state noted with pleasure, stating that the road on completion and commissioned would not only enhance the economic activities of the people, particularly the fishermen whose main source of livelihood is fishing, but will also boost transportation in the areas.

The Rt Hon speaker who was among the dignitaries earlier arrived to witness the event, said “We all know that in Bayelsa state where we have comparative advantage is the coastline where we can make a lot of resources out of it.”

But, he regretted that over the years past the people have not gotten the opportunity to be linked with road along the coastline, describing the project as most important than any other road created in the state.

The speaker enjoined the people of the two local government areas, particularly the Chiefs, youths and elders to own up the project by creating the enabling peaceful atmosphere for its smooth execution.

 

 He equally urged them to provide local security to work with the security agencies as work commences.

On the 2023 general election, the speaker expressed optimism for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the ruling government of the state to win. This, he affirmed that the party had evenly distributed social amenities to all the communities of the state.

" By the special grace of God, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has done well in Bayelsa State. All the Projects we have in our communities and Local Governments are been executed by the PDP ruling government. So, we have an advantage to go back and contest; campaign for the forthcoming election.

And when you are campaigning, you also point at what you have done in the localities.

And by the special grace of God, PDP, the ruling government of the state have done well; spread social amenities to all communities in Bayelsa state. Therefore, we have the advantage to win,”he averred.
