Concerned Yelga Constituency 3 Stakeholders want Bulodisiye Ndiwari to step down for others

Ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries for the State Houses of Assembly  scheduled to hold on Wednesday, May 20 nationwide, Concerned Stakeholders of  Yenagoa  Local Government Area Constituency 3, have made a distress appeal to the  Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, his Deputy, Dr Peter P. Akpe and the State Commissioner for Education, Dr Gentle Emelah to prevail on the Mayor of Yenagoa City Council, Mr Bulodisiye Ndiwari to step down for  other aspirants cleared in the area.

The stakeholders who spoke to Global Overseer on Friday in Yenagoa on condition of anonymity  said, the move would  enhance the even distribution of the dividends of democracy to the nooks and crannies of the Constituency and uplift the socio-economic well being of the people.

The other aspirants cleared by the APC screening Committee along with the incumbent Mayor of Yenagoa City Council, Mr Bulodisiye Ndiwari are, Barrister Zuwa Konugah, Hon Barry Ndubaden Amaoru, Kate Ebisoru Preye and Iwe-Ebiya George for  Yenagoa Constituency 3 State House of Assembly primaries.

Although the Concerned Stakeholders are not unaware that he has the constitutional right to contest, but for the sake of equity, fairness and even development of constituents and the Constituency, they said he should humbly step down to pave way for others to also contribute their quota's towards the development of the area.

They  maintained that political appointment and offices should not be taking as one family affair for only few to hijacked everything for themselves at the expense of others.

The Concerned Stakeholders insisted that the incumbent Yenagoa City Council Chairman should finish his three years tenure before looking for other appointments.

They described the present scenario where he is rushing to contest and occupy the Constituency Seat at the State House of Assembly as uncalled for and unfair, pleading with him to leave the seat for others for now.

They noted that he has used his privilege position to empower his associates, stressing that he should allow others too to occupy the seat to boost even distribution of wealth and social amenities in the area.

They alleged that the Mayor have been using his privilege position lobbying top government functionaries and party's stakeholders to achieve his political ambition, and deny the constituents the right to choose candidate of their own choice to represent them.

According to them the situation in the area where a selected few monopolize positions of trust and authority, may inevitably leads to marginalization of majority.

They added that this systemic imbalance in the area may stifles broader societal progress, concentrates wealth and influence in the hands of a few, and leads to a significant loss of confidence in critical institutions.

The Concerned Stakeholders asserted emphatically that their appeal became necessary to avoid erosion of meritocracy and fairness, deep-seated frustration, apathy, and cynicism. 

They also implored the state governor and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress to conduct free and fair primaries in the area to enable them elect candidate of their choice to represent them, since APC is the only party on ground in the state.
